Product description

The LF-24-4200-24.2X16-TC is an industrial LED fixture providing neutral-white full-spectrum light (4200 K, measured CCT ~4370 K) with high color rendering (CRI ≥95, 3-step SDCM bin). The fixture combines an aluminum housing with integrated heatsink, an aluminum PCB populated with 2835 SMD LEDs, and a transparent PMMA cover. The continuous spectrum extends from a blue peak around 452 nm into the near-infrared region, making the fixture suitable for color-critical industrial imaging, machine vision and inspection applications.

The transparent PMMA cover is selected for maximum optical transmission across the full visible range, without the spectrally selective absorption or diffusion introduced by colored or opal variants — essential where the spectral integrity of the light must be preserved for camera imaging and colorimetric workflows. The PCB carries an industrial-grade silicone coating against dust, moisture and chemical exposure; combined with the aluminum housing this delivers a mechanically robust fixture for industrial inspection environments.

Applications

Machine vision and industrial inspection — The combination of CRI ≥95 and stable 4200 K CCT delivers color-accurate imagery for defect detection, surface inspection and QA on production lines. At a typical working distance of 20 cm the fixture provides 25,990 lx and 89.78 W/m² irradiance, enabling short exposure times for high-speed line-scan and area-scan vision systems on fast-moving products.

Line-scan and hyperspectral imaging — The continuous full-spectrum profile, with signal from roughly 400 to 800 nm, makes this fixture suitable as pre-illumination for hyperspectral cameras and as a broadband reference source for line-scan systems on conveyors. At 15 cm the fixture delivers 41,970 lx and 144.8 W/m² irradiance, providing sufficient signal-to-noise across all spectral bands without gaps in the VIS-NIR transition region.

Food inspection and color grading — For freshness control, ripeness assessment and color sorting in agrifood applications where color-accurate rendering is essential, the high CRI provides a reliable basis for automated sorting and grading algorithms. For wash-down environments in meat processing, dairy production or bakery lines, a stainless-steel 316 water-cooled housing variant is available within the same modular platform.

Reference illumination and colorimetry — The 3-step SDCM binning, high CRI and stable CCT make this fixture suitable as a reference light source for measurement benches, color calibration of camera and monitor systems, print and textile inspection, and as a consistent illuminant in spectral measurement setups.

Fluorescence response and print/textile inspection — The broad emission spectrum with strong blue component excites optical brightening agents (OBAs) in paper and textiles, making deviations in coatings, fiber composition and washing processes visually detectable. At 17,500 lx at 25 cm the response remains stable enough for reproducible batch comparisons.

Plant research with full-spectrum light — The measured PPFD of 3295.4 µmol/m²/s at 5 cm and 398.7 µmol/m²/s at 20 cm enables the fixture to be used for research into balanced plant development under neutral-white light, comparison studies with monochromatic sources, and as a reference light in horticultural R&D setups where a broad continuous spectrum is desired.

Integration

This fixture is designed as a building block for industrial systems. The modular platform architecture provides different cooling, cover and wavelength variants within a single design; configurations and use cases are detailed in the modular fixture info sheet in the download section.

The 24V CV platform enables fast pulse switching, essential for peak output above nominal power. In pulsed operation, a higher instantaneous irradiance can be achieved than in continuous operation at equal or lower average power — delivering higher efficiency in many applications. Combined with the MaNima Pollux Industry controller, the fixture provides real-time monitoring of current, voltage and temperature, PWM control and pulse control with adjustable pulse times from 2µs to 1000ms. The controller supports Ethernet connectivity for PLC and SCADA integration, UDP, analogue signals, digital contacts and network protocols for seamless connection to existing process controls and machine environments.
