Product description
The LuxaLight LF-24-4800K-24.2X16-TC is an industrial full-spectrum LED fixture combining 4200 K and 5700 K LEDs into a balanced, daylight-like spectrum that covers the full visible range and extends with a moderate tail toward approximately 800 nm. It is built around an aluminium PCB on a passive aluminium heatsink, finished with a transparent PMMA cover, and intended for industrial machine vision, inspection and spectral reference environments.
PMMA was selected for its high optical transmission across the full visible range without noticeably shifting the spectral balance — a critical requirement for colour-accurate machine vision and spectral reference measurements. The cover is mechanically robust and chemically stable under normal industrial conditions, while the aluminium housing distributes heat linearly along the module length, a prerequisite for stable spectral output during longer operating periods.
Applications
Machine vision and true-colour analysis — The combination of a high CRI and a balanced full-spectrum output makes the fixture suitable for line-scan and area-scan camera setups where colour fidelity drives defect detection, surface inspection and presence verification. At 187,100 lx and 662 W/m² irradiance at 5 cm, it delivers sufficient light levels for short camera exposure times at high line speeds, while output at 20–30 cm (23,880–12,170 lx) accommodates setups with longer working distances.
Hyperspectral and multispectral imaging — The broad, continuous spectrum from approximately 400 to 800 nm without pronounced gaps functions as a stable broadband reference source for hyperspectral cameras and multispectral setups. Applications that simultaneously sample multiple wavelength bands — such as material characterisation, food classification and remote-sensing calibration — receive a consistent spectral input at a single measurement distance, with 38,480 lx at 15 cm as a typical working distance for laboratory configurations.
Food and agro inspection — The neutral 4800 K spectrum with high colour rendering gives accurate discrimination on ripeness, colour deviations and surface defects when sorting vegetables, fruit and processed foods. For wash-down environments, food processing with elevated corrosion exposure and pharmaceutical production lines, the same fixture is available within the same modular platform in a water-cooled stainless steel 316 housing variant.
Plant research and supplementary lighting — With 2918 µmol/m²/s PPFD at 5 cm and 189.88 µmol/m²/s at 30 cm, the fixture is suitable for growth and photosynthesis research where a broadband white spectrum is required — for instance as base illumination combined with narrowband red or blue channels, for shade-avoidance response studies, or as a reference spectrum against monochromatic experiments in growth chambers.
Visual inspection in cleanrooms and laboratories — The daylight-balanced spectrum and linear form factor suit installations where visual inspection takes place under reproducible lighting conditions — optical QC stations, metrology laboratories and pharmaceutical particle and surface inspection. The illuminance of 38,480 lx at 15 cm and 23,880 lx at 20 cm comfortably meets normative lighting levels for precision inspection work.
Colour metrology and spectral reference measurements — The measured 4920 K spectrum with CRI 93 functions as a reproducible white reference for colour measurement equipment, spectroscopic calibration and goniospectral setups. Stability is reinforced by real-time temperature feedback, keeping spectral drift due to self-heating under control across longer measurement sequences.
Integration
This fixture is designed as a building block for industrial systems. The modular platform architecture provides different cooling, cover and wavelength variants within a single design; configurations and use cases are detailed in the modular fixture info sheet in the download section.
The 24V CV platform enables fast pulse switching, essential for peak output above nominal power. In pulsed operation, a higher instantaneous irradiance can be achieved than in continuous operation at equal or lower average power — delivering higher efficiency in many applications. Combined with the MaNima Pollux Industry controller, the fixture provides real-time monitoring of current, voltage and temperature, PWM control and pulse control with adjustable pulse times from 2µs to 1000ms. The controller supports Ethernet connectivity for PLC and SCADA integration, UDP, analogue signals, digital contacts and network protocols for seamless connection to existing process controls and machine environments.
