Product description
The LuxaLight Industrial LED Fixture delivers deep-red light with a measured peak around 662 nm in the 650–700 nm band. The fixture combines SMD 2835 LEDs on an aluminium PCB with a passive aluminium housing and a polarised PMMA cover.
The polarised cover blocks specular reflections on glossy, reflective and coated surfaces, increasing contrast in machine vision and inspection applications. In horticulture and photobiomodulation setups, the same polarisation reduces glare without affecting the spectral characteristics of the 660 nm peak.
Applications
Horticulture and plant research — Deep red around 660 nm falls within the chlorophyll-a absorption band and drives photosynthesis, flowering and fruit set, and phytochrome balance. With ~2,485 µmol/m²/s PPFD at 5 cm and ~473 µmol/m²/s at 15 cm, the fixture supports close-range supplemental lighting and targeted research setups. The IP64 rating allows operation in humid growth environments; for wash-down conditions, a water-cooled stainless steel 316 housing variant is available.
Photobiomodulation and medical research — The 660 nm peak sits within the therapeutic red window widely used for wound healing, tissue regeneration and cellular research protocols. At 5 cm the fixture provides 26,980 lx and 461 W/m² irradiance, and at 15 cm 5,294 lx and 92 W/m² — sufficient density for bench-scale dose-response studies and treatment setups at short working distances.
Machine vision and surface inspection — Linearly polarised red light suppresses specular reflections on metals, polymers, glass and coated surfaces, improving contrast for OCR, barcode reading and defect detection. At 10 cm the fixture delivers 10,420 lx for camera acquisition with short exposure times; at 30 cm working distance, 1,653 lx remains available for larger-standoff setups.
Integration
This fixture is designed as a building block for industrial systems. The modular platform architecture provides different cooling, cover and wavelength variants within a single design; configurations and use cases are detailed in the modular fixture info sheet in the download section.
The 24V CV platform enables fast pulse switching, essential for peak output above nominal power. In pulsed operation, a higher instantaneous irradiance can be achieved than in continuous operation at equal or lower average power — delivering higher efficiency in many applications. Combined with the MaNima Pollux Industry controller, the fixture provides real-time monitoring of current, voltage and temperature, PWM control and pulse control with adjustable pulse times from 2µs to 1000ms. The controller supports Ethernet connectivity for PLC and SCADA integration, UDP, analogue signals, digital contacts and network protocols for seamless connection to existing process controls and machine environments.
