Product description
The Zirqle LF-24-640-24.2X16-POL is an industrial LED fixture with a nominal peak wavelength of 640 nm (measured peak 642 nm) in the red band 620–650 nm, built on an aluminium PCB with 108 × 2835 SMD LEDs mounted on a passive aluminium heatsink and sealed with a polarised PMMA cover. The fixture operates on a 24V CV platform with an integrated NTC sensor enabling real-time thermal monitoring through the MaNima Pollux controller.
The polarised PMMA cover linearises the red light field, suppressing specular reflections on glossy and coated substrates and increasing usable contrast in imaging and inspection setups — a property that standard transparent or opal covers cannot deliver, making the fixture suitable for contrast-critical optical chains. The aluminium frame combined with the PMMA cover provides IP64 protection for dust-exposed and splash-exposed industrial environments.
Applications
Photobiomodulation — At 640 nm the red light is efficiently absorbed by skin and superficial tissue for wound healing, tissue regeneration and pain relief. For a target fluence of 4 J/cm² (40,000 J/m²) at a 10 cm working distance with 164.6 W/m² irradiance, the resulting exposure time is approximately 4 minutes per session; pulse switching via the MaNima Pollux controller allows reproducible, protocol-based dosing.
Medical light therapy and dermatology — The narrowband 640 nm emission delivers consistent spectral output for dermatological routines and cosmetic light therapy where reproducible per-session dosing matters more than broadband illumination. At clinical working distances of 15–20 cm the fixture provides 85.76 W/m² and 53.12 W/m² respectively, sufficient for treatment sessions in the minutes range at standard therapeutic fluences.
Horticulture and plant research — The 640 nm emission sits close to the chlorophyll-a absorption peak and serves as supplementary red light, in combination with blue and far-red, for flowering and fruit-set phases. At 30 cm canopy distance the fixture delivers 137.95 µmol/m²/s PPFD, rising to 427.78 µmol/m²/s at 15 cm — directly usable in research setups and monochromatic experiments where plant morphology is steered through single-wavelength dosing.
Integration
This fixture is designed as a building block for industrial systems. The modular platform architecture provides different cooling, cover and wavelength variants within a single design; configurations and use cases are detailed in the modular fixture info sheet in the download section.
The 24V CV platform enables fast pulse switching, essential for peak output above nominal power. In pulsed operation, a higher instantaneous irradiance can be achieved than in continuous operation at equal or lower average power — delivering higher efficiency in many applications. Combined with the MaNima Pollux Industry controller, the fixture provides real-time monitoring of current, voltage and temperature, PWM control and pulse control with adjustable pulse times from 2µs to 1000ms. The controller supports Ethernet connectivity for PLC and SCADA integration, UDP, analogue signals, digital contacts and network protocols for seamless connection to existing process controls and machine environments.
