Product description
The LuxaLight Industrial UV-C 265 nm fixture delivers spectral output in the 230–280 nm UV-C band with a measured peak at 263 nm. It is built around an aluminium PCB with high-power 3535 UV-C LEDs, mounted on a passive aluminium heatsink and sealed with a quartz glass cover.
Quartz glass is essential at this wavelength: it transmits UV below 320 nm where borosilicate glass and PMMA absorb, which is required for effective UV-C output at the working surface. The aluminium heatsink keeps junction temperature stable, ensuring spectral stability and consistent UV-C irradiance across extended duty cycles.
Applications
Water disinfection For inline water treatment where UV-C doses of 40 mJ/cm² (400 J/m²) are typical for 4-log E. coli reduction. At 10 cm the fixture delivers 62.29 W/m² irradiance, giving an exposure time of approximately 6.4 seconds for this dose. For wash-down water and fluid-contact applications, a water-cooled stainless steel 316 housing variant is available within the same platform.
Surface and room disinfection For decontamination of work surfaces, tooling and critical zones with typical doses of 22–40 mJ/cm² for bacterial and viral inactivation. At 15 cm working distance (39.17 W/m²), 40 mJ/cm² is reached in approximately 10.2 seconds, supporting both static pulse cycles and pass-through applications.
Air and duct treatment For in-duct UV-C disinfection in HVAC and ventilation systems. The measured peak at 263 nm sits close to the DNA absorption maximum (260 nm), maximising germicidal efficiency against microbial load in airflows.
Food industry For decontamination of packaging, conveyor belts and production-line surfaces. At 20 cm distance the fixture delivers 27.78 W/m² irradiance, providing a 40 mJ/cm² dose within approximately 14.4 seconds of contact time. For wash-down production environments, a water-cooled stainless steel 316 housing variant is available within the platform.
Laboratory and scientific systems For sterile workbenches, biosafety cabinets and laboratory equipment requiring controlled and repeatable UV-C irradiance. The NTC input enables metered exposure cycles and thermal supervision in combination with an external controller.
Research & development For photochemical research, DNA/RNA degradation studies and validation protocols. The measured peak at 263 nm and specified irradiance between 5 and 30 cm (123.2 to 14.76 W/m² total irradiance) provide reproducible experimental conditions.
Integration
This fixture is designed as a building block for industrial systems. The modular platform architecture provides different cooling, cover and wavelength variants within a single design; configurations and use cases are detailed in the modular fixture info sheet in the download section.
The 24V CV platform enables fast pulse switching, essential for peak output above nominal power. In pulsed operation, a higher instantaneous irradiance can be achieved than in continuous operation at equal or lower average power — delivering higher efficiency in many applications. Combined with the MaNima Pollux Industry controller, the fixture provides real-time monitoring of current, voltage and temperature, PWM control and pulse control with adjustable pulse times from 2µs to 1000ms. The controller supports Ethernet connectivity for PLC and SCADA integration, UDP, analogue signals, digital contacts and network protocols for seamless connection to existing process controls and machine environments.
