Product description
The LuxaLight Industrial LED Fixture with transparent PMMA cover delivers a broadband white spectrum with a peak emission around 454 nm, a measured CCT of 5833 K and CRI ≥ 95 in 3-step SDCM binning. The fixture combines a 2835 LED array on an aluminium PCB with silicone coating, an aluminium housing and the transparent PMMA cover into a single surface-mount unit with IP64 classification.
The transparent PMMA cover is selected for maximum optical transmission across the entire visible spectrum without colour shift, while simultaneously providing mechanical protection against dust, impact and splashing water. PMMA combines high impact resistance with low weight and uniform transmission across 400–800 nm — essential for applications where spectral stability and reproducible colour rendering determine the measurement result.
Applications
Machine vision and defect detection — The combination of CRI ≥ 95, a measured CCT of 5833 K and 24,960 lx at a 20 cm working distance delivers colour-accurate illumination for inspection systems where subtle colour nuances determine pass/fail. Suitable for PCB inspection, textile, plastic and print quality control, and surface inspection where chromatic precision is essential. Measured irradiance reaches 89.42 W/m² at the same working distance.
Hyperspectral imaging — The broad, continuous spectrum from 400 to approximately 780 nm with a dominant blue peak at 454 nm forms a suitable broadband light source for spectral cameras and push-broom scanners. At a 15 cm working distance the fixture delivers 40,220 lx and 144 W/m² irradiance, sufficient for short integration times in food sorting, plastic identification and pharmaceutical tablet inspection lines.
Line-scan camera systems — With 77,330 lx at 10 cm and 191,400 lx at 5 cm in a linear form factor with 120° beam angle, the fixture suits continuous conveyor inspection that requires high illumination levels at short integration times. The geometry aligns with standard line-scan camera configurations for uniform illumination of narrow inspection zones in web, glass and film inspection.
Food inspection and agro-food sorting — The CRI ≥ 95 binning enables true-colour assessment of products where ripeness, surface defects or meat quality are graded by colour. At a 25 cm working distance the fixture delivers 16,510 lx, a typical operating point for sorting installations above conveyors. For wash-down environments in food processing, a variant with a water-cooled 316 stainless steel housing is available within the same modular platform.
Reference illumination and metrology — The 3-step SDCM binning ensures consistency between units and batches, making the fixture suitable as a stable reference light source for calibration stations, colour measurement benches, optical QC stations and visual inspection tasks in cleanrooms and laboratories. At a 30 cm working distance the fixture still delivers 12,260 lx, ample for stable visual evaluation.
Plant research and horticultural studies — The PPFD output of 2,991 µmol/m²/s at 5 cm and 632 µmol/m²/s at 15 cm, combined with the broad sun-like spectrum, supports phenotyping studies, photomorphogenesis research and supplementary illumination in cultivation chambers where a broadband reference spectrum is more representative than narrowband horticultural LEDs. The broadband profile enables differentiation between blue and red responses within a single light source for fundamental plant physiology research.
Integration
This fixture is designed as a building block for industrial systems. The modular platform architecture provides different cooling, cover and wavelength variants within a single design; configurations and use cases are detailed in the modular fixture info sheet in the download section.
The 24V CV platform enables fast pulse switching, essential for peak output above nominal power. In pulsed operation, a higher instantaneous irradiance can be achieved than in continuous operation at equal or lower average power — delivering higher efficiency in many applications. Combined with the MaNima Pollux Industry controller, the fixture provides real-time monitoring of current, voltage and temperature, PWM control and pulse control with adjustable pulse times from 2µs to 1000ms. The controller supports Ethernet connectivity for PLC and SCADA integration, UDP, analogue signals, digital contacts and network protocols for seamless connection to existing process controls and machine environments.
