Product description
The LuxaLight LF-24-735-24.2X16-POL is an industrial LED fixture with a peak wavelength of 739 nm in the 700–750 nm far-red band, built from 108 SMD 2835 LEDs on an aluminium PCB inside an aluminium housing with integrated heatsink. The PMMA polarised transparent cover closes the optical aperture and is available in four light-distribution angles (30°, 60°, 90° and 120°), matching the beam profile to the application without external optics. The PCB carries a silicone conformal coating; the fixture reaches IP64.
The polarised PMMA cover suppresses specular reflections from glossy and leaf-like surfaces, improving contrast in inspection and machine vision tasks. In fluorescence and chlorophyll imaging set-ups the cover can be paired with a cross-polarised filter on the camera to reject excitation reflections from the detection path. Switching between 30°, 60°, 90° and 120° allows the same fixture to deliver a tight beam for targeted photobiomodulation or a wide distribution for canopy illumination in growth cabinets.
Applications
Horticulture and phytochrome control: 735 nm coincides with the absorption peak of phytochrome Pfr and therefore governs the Pr/Pfr equilibrium that drives shade avoidance, stem elongation and flowering induction in long-day species. End-of-day far-red and red/far-red supplementation (Emerson enhancement) are the standard protocols; at 25–30 cm working distance the fixture delivers 34.48–25.66 W/m² irradiance in the 700–750 nm band, well above what phytochrome signalling requires.
Photobiomodulation and biological research: The 735 nm wavelength sits within the optical window of tissue and is applied in PBM protocols for tissue regeneration, wound healing and cell culture studies. At working distances between 5 and 15 cm the fixture delivers 416.3 to 82.65 W/m² irradiance, sufficient to reach typical PBM doses of a few J/cm² within minutes.
Machine vision and vegetation imaging: The combination of 735 nm with a polarised cover suits NDVI-oriented plant stress detection, chlorophyll fluorescence imaging and machine vision inspection of reflective or leaf-like surfaces. Polarisation stabilises image contrast across varying surface finishes; at 20–30 cm the image plane sits within the homogeneous zone at 51.08–25.66 W/m² irradiance.
Integration
This fixture is designed as a building block for industrial systems. The modular platform architecture provides different cooling, cover and wavelength variants within a single design; configurations and use cases are detailed in the modular fixture info sheet in the download section.
The 24V CV platform enables fast pulse switching, essential for peak output above nominal power. In pulsed operation, a higher instantaneous irradiance can be achieved than in continuous operation at equal or lower average power — delivering higher efficiency in many applications. Combined with the MaNima Pollux Industry controller, the fixture provides real-time monitoring of current, voltage and temperature, PWM control and pulse control with adjustable pulse times from 2µs to 1000ms. The controller supports Ethernet connectivity for PLC and SCADA integration, UDP, analogue signals, digital contacts and network protocols for seamless connection to existing process controls and machine environments.
