Product description

LuxaLight Long Life LED-strip APA102 Digital SPI RGB Indoor High Power distinguishes itself by the A-quality 5050 LED-chip that ensures an extra high light output. These LED-strips are fitted with the special APA102 LEDs with an embedded controller chip that allows each LED to control color and brightness separately. This digital LED-strip is perfect to control with MaNima interfaces.

This does not require complex wiring plan, these LEDs are serially controlled by a specially designed microcontroller. With four wires the strip can be controlled: Ground, +5 V, SDI (serial data signal) and CKI (clock signal), just like a SPI bus.
The output of the APA102 strip is GND, SDO (serial data signal) and CKO (clock signal).

On the strip itself, between the LEDs this serial information is transferred from the serial output of one LED to the serial input of the next LED. It is thus possible for any length LED-strip colors to come true at the beginning and end of each other, or even to create a display that can display (moving) images.


Both RGB LED chips and the microcontroller are integrated in the housing SMD 5050, and together form a complete digital controllable full-color pixel. The LED has a built-in signal conditioning circuit to transfer the digital signal distortion free to the next LED input.

Cascading port transmission signal by single line.

The LED used here is the APA102, so 6-pin SMD 5050 package.

When the refresh rate is 30fps, low speed model cascade number are not less than 512 points, high speed mode not less than 1024 points. Send data at speeds of 800kbps up tp32MHz. The color of the light were highly consistent.

Applications are for LED decorative lighting and indoor/outdoor LED video screen.
